A 911 call reporting a 12 inch pipe bomb turned out to be a hoax

LYNDONVILLE — A 911 call to the Walgreens store on Broad Street on November 5 reporting a 12” pipe bomb was in the store, turned out to be a hoax. That is the belief of law enforcement officials responding to the 12:45 p.m. call. Employees and customers evacuated the building after the 911 call came in. Shortly after this initial call, Walgreens around the state began to receive bomb threats. These threats were believed to be made from the same person or group of persons. According to Lyndonville police chief Jack Harris, the threat was determined to be a hoax and once the building was cleared the Walgreens staff returned to normal operation.
