LITTLETON — Voters at March town meeting will be presented with a 3.5-megawatt solar energy project, proposed for the capped landfill along Industrial Park Road, that developers say will carry no costs for taxpayers, provide tax and lease payments to the town, and offer discounted electricity costs through Littleton Water and Light (LWL). Presenting the proposal during Monday’s Select Board meeting was Andrew Bernstein, CEO of Kearsarge Energy, which was founded in 2009, specializes in working with municipalities, is one of the larger solar developers in New England, and has 77 projects currently comprising 225 megawatts and $550 million. The company’s focus that began in Massachusetts, where solar has since been mostly built out for the grid, is now moving to New Hampshire, he said.
