Connecticut Lakes Headwaters Forest Sale Closes on 146,400 Acres
After New Hampshire passed a $68.7 million purchase of the Connecticut Lakes Headwaters Working Forest in northern Coos County in July, the forest’s new owner announced this week that it closed on the 146,400 acres of timberland. On Thursday, representatives for Manulife Investment Management announced the closing on behalf of an unnamed client and said a focus will be on the region’s forest products industry and managing the headwaters tract — most of which is located in Pittsburg with smaller portions on Stewartstown and Clarksville — as a working forest with public recreational access.
