Littleton School District Revives Veterans Day Celebration After Six Years

LITTLETON — After a hiatus of six years, the Littleton School District SAU 84 is reviving its Veterans Day celebration — which for a decade had become an annual tradition for students and staff — and is putting out the call to the community’s hometown heroes to participate and be honored for their service. The annual ceremony held in the Littleton High School/Daisy Bronson Middle School gymnasium began around 2010 before falling by the wayside after 2021. Veterans Day traces its origins to Armistice Day, Nov. 11, 1918, which marked the end of the First World War. In 1954, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day and expanded to honor all men and women who served in all branches of the military.
