Franconia Rink Project Eyes New Site on Profile Road

FRANCONIA — After a location for a community ice skating rink at the Franconia Soaring Foundation recently fell through, the nonprofit Franconia Rink Project has another potential site —one that could be in hand before the end of the year if all the pieces come together. During an update on Monday before the Franconia Select Board, Jennifer and John Opalinksi, who are spearheading the effort, presented the plan. The project is now eyeing a 3.06-acre wooded parcel at 1476 Profile Road, near Lovett’s Inn and Restaurant and not too far from Franconia village.
