St. Johnsbury Launching New TextMyGov Notification Service

The Town of St. Johnsbury is deploying a new text messaging service, TextMyGov, that will let residents receive notifications and find specific information by texting the town.

The new text messaging system will be available to the public on Sept. 15.

Residents may receive a text message from 91896 from the Town of St. Johnsbury initiating the service. A person can choose to opt out at any time by texting STOP.

If a resident doesn’t receive the initial message, choose to opt in by texting the keyword “STJOPTIN” to the number 91896. After sending the initial keyword, the system will ask the recipient to reply “YES” to confirm opt-in.

Residents may receive notifications about road closures, water main breaks, significant events, amber/silver alerts, and more.
