Third Member of Whitefield Family Dies Following Aug. 11 Shooting

A third member of a Whitefield family has died from injuries suffered in the Aug. 11 shooting at Hilltop Manor mobile home park. Michael Marro, 41, died from a “catastrophic” gunshot wound to the head, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office announced Monday. Authorities said Eric Blake Jr., 29, shot three family members at 3 Hilltop Manor St. in the early morning hours of Aug. 11 before killing himself. Blake’s mother, Amy Blake, 59, and Marro, his older brother, both died at the hospital from their injuries. Their father, Eric Blake Sr., 53, also suffered a gunshot wound but was able to drive himself to a hospital, where he reported the incident. He is expected to survive his injuries. In a statement earlier this month, authorities said mental illness appeared to be a contributing factor in Blake Jr.’s actions, although the investigation remained ongoing. Because Blake Jr. died, criminal charges cannot be brought against him, authorities said.
