Franconia Police Investigate Theft of Three Foot Banana Sculpture from ArtWalk
FRANCONIA — The Franconia Police Department issued an unusual all-points bulletin last week: be on the lookout for a missing three-foot-long banana. The fiberglass fruit, part of the 2025 Franconia ArtWalk, was reported stolen Thursday night from outside Chef Joe’s Catering at 651 Main St. Police said the theft occurred sometime after dark. “I’ve never investigated the theft of a three-foot banana,” Franconia Police Chief Mac Cashin said. “We are hoping that somebody will come forward with some information that will lead us to getting the banana returned.” Anyone with information about the sculpture is asked to contact the Franconia Police Department.
