57 Year Old Hiker Rescued in Franconia Notch After Leg Injury
FRANCONIA NOTCH — A 57-year-old hiker from Wells, Maine, was rescued Tuesday, March 11, after sustaining a leg injury while hiking between Lincoln Mountain and Mount Lafayette. At approximately 3:05 p.m., Conservation Officers received a notification after a Garmin inReach device was activated by a fellow hiker who encountered the injured man. Although he was making his way down the Falling Waters Trail, it became evident that he needed assistance to complete his descent. Pemigewasset Valley Search and Rescue members responded and successfully transported the victim to the trailhead. From there, he arranged for his own medical care.
