Derby Head On Collision on Wet Snow Covered Road Causes Minor Injury and Significant Damage

A head-on collision on March 6 on wet, snow-covered West St. in Derby caused significant front-end damage to the vehicles but only minor injury. Police said a vehicle operated by Carson Limlaw, 17, of Derby, slid out on a corner, colliding head-on with a vehicle operated by Kenneth Carriero, 49, of North Troy. The primary cause of the collision, police stated, was Limlaw failing to maintain his lane of travel. Secondary factors were Limlaw driving too fast for the conditions. Derby Line Fire Department and Newport Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
