A Sheffield man wearing a seat belt avoided serious injury

A Sheffield man wearing a seat belt avoided serious injury on Tuesday when the vehicle he was driving left Rt. 122 in Wheelock and smashed into a guardrail before overturning between the road and Miller’s Run.  Corey Raymond, 56, was driving a 2024 Subaru Forester south on Rt. 122 near the town line with Lyndon about 9:15 a.m. when his vehicle left the road and crashed. The vehicle came to rest on its roof and had a crunched front end. It sustained total damage. Troopers were assisted by the Lyndonville Police Department, the Sheffield-Wheelock Fire Department, the Lyndonville Fire Department and Lyndon Rescue. The vehicle was removed by B&B Towing. Traffic was stopped in both directions until the vehicle was removed.
