He was a Wells River boy who made Bethlehem his home

He was a Wells River boy who made Bethlehem his home, earned the respect of area fire chiefs and firefighters, and rose to distinction regionally and across New Hampshire for his commitment and leadership in the fire and EMS service. After nearly three decades of serving as Bethlehem’s fire chief and more than half a century as a firefighter, Jack Anderson, 76, will retire. His last day of service will be Dec. 31. The Select Board officially made the announcement during its meeting on Monday. Anderson was instrumental in advocating for the state’s second fire training academy in Bethlehem, which is now undergoing a $6 million expansion, has served as president of the Twin State Fire Mutual Aid Association, and is a training leader sought out for his decades of accumulated knowledge and expertise.
