One person is dead following a two-alarm fire Friday night

BETHLEHEM — One person is dead following a two-alarm fire Friday night. According to the state fire marshal’s office, an autopsy will be conducted Sunday to determine the victim’s identity and cause of death. The fire broke out at 3457 Main St. sometime before 10:30 p.m. The Bethlehem Fire Department arrived to find significant fire and smoke coming from the first and second story of the single-family home. Once firefighters made entry, they located an individual who was determined to be deceased. Bethlehem Fire was assisted by department from Littleton, Twin Mountain, Whitefield, Jefferson, Franconia and Sugar Hill. Dalton and Groveton Fire provided station coverage. The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is active and ongoing by members of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office, Bethlehem Fire Department and the Bethlehem Police Department.
