Rep. Jared Sullivan, D-Bethlehem, will be the prime sponsor of a bill for the 2025 legislative session

It’s called being “roofied,” when someone secretly spikes a drink with a date rape drug to cause another to black out and then engage in sex with the person against their will. To combat it, state Rep. Jared Sullivan, D-Bethlehem, will be the prime sponsor of a bill for the 2025 legislative session that would allow patrons to take purchased alcoholic beverages into a restaurant’s restroom. He said the goal is to ensure that people who buy drinks are always in control of their drinks. “Roofie” is slang for an odorless and tasteless drug called Rohypnol. Under current New Hampshire law, people who order drinks must put them down before entering a restroom.
