The Bethlehem Select Board is exploring the idea of eliminating the town recreation department
The Bethlehem Select Board is exploring the idea of eliminating the town recreation department, established 26 years ago, to reduce the budget and ease the burden on taxpayers. Following several board discussions, a public hearing to gather the views of residents and parents is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, July 22, at town hall. A remote option is available. Monday’s hearing will include a presentation by the Lisbon-based Boys and Girls Club of the North Country, which the Bethlehem board is considering bringing into the fold to provide recreation programs and activities for Bethlehem families.
