As additional state money is being requested to replace the aerial tramway that is nearing the end of its life

FRANCONIA NOTCH — As additional state money is being requested to replace the aerial tramway that is nearing the end of its life, the Cannon Mountain Advisory Commission has authorized a new expenditure to tackle other areas of deferred maintenance on the mountain, including snow-making. While sometimes meeting just twice a year, CMAC, following its meeting in April and before its next scheduled one in November 2024, met on Friday to endorse nearly $750,000 in immediate needs priorities, the first in a proposed four-part $13.93 million capital improvements plan being refined by Jace Wirth, the new general manager of the state-owned Cannon Mountain Ski Area and Franconia Notch State Park.
