Committed to continuing the presence it has had in Lisbon since 1898, New England Wire Technologies is advancing a $13 million, 37,000-square foot addition to increase capacity, serve multiple purposes, and take the business into the future. The project that broke ground in August is expected to be complete by about March 2025. The big driver initially is to increase capacity in one area of the business and to add equipment that the company already has and include more equipment, said Peter Gaudette, facility manager at New England Wire Technologies, a custom cable and wire supply firm with contracts around the globe, including for the manufacture of components for medical devices, industrial manufacturing, military and defense, robotics, communications, alternative energy, and other industries. The addition will allow NEWT’s sister company, New England Tubing Technologies, which is more of the medical side of the business that makes catheters, tubing, and related items, to expand.
