White Mountains Regional High School was shut down Wednesday
WHITEFIELD — White Mountains Regional High School was shut down Wednesday after a fake bomb threat. An unknown person called in the bomb threat overnight and left a voicemail, which was discovered by school staff at 5 a.m. the next morning, according to district officials. As a precaution, the school district closed WMRHS, and Whitefield and New Hampshire State Police were called in to investigate. While the threat did not target the district’s two other schools, Lancaster and Whitefield Elementary, they were also searched and cleared. District officials said high school students will not have to make up the day because it was “an emergency situation.”
