A Lyndon Rescue Ambulance crashed into by a Jeep Compass
ST. JOHNSBURY — A Lyndon Rescue Ambulance taking a patient to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital on Tuesday afternoon was crashed into by a Jeep Compass on Hospital Drive. Trooper Luke Rodzel said the driver of a Jeep Compass entered Hospital Drive from Old Center Road, trying to go north as the ambulance was traveling south on Hospital Drive. The front of the Jeep crashed into the passenger side front of the ambulance, causing significant damage. It came to rest on the side of Hospital Drive. The Jeep was totaled in the center of Hospital Drive, stopping traffic in both directions. CALEX Ambulance responded and got the patient out of the Lyndon Rescue Ambulance. The person was taken to the hospital as intended. CALEX Director Michael Wright said the person was not hurt in the crash. No injuries were reported to the driver of the Jeep or two Lyndon Rescue ambulance occupants.
