Jill Brewer discovered the vandalism on the morning of Sunday

As Franconia police investigate the case involving anti-Semitic, homophobic, and misogynistic graffiti that targeted the home of a Select Board member, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office, which has been ramping up its Civil Rights Unit to tackle an increase in hate crimes, is aware and also investigating. Franconia Select Board member Jill Brewer discovered the vandalism on the morning of Sunday, Nov. 26, when she found a smashed mailbox, red spray paint that defaced an LGBTQ+ “Everyone Belongs” sign, a swastika painted on the front of the mailbox, and other graffiti. As of Tuesday, no arrests had been made. Because the case is pending, Cashin said he can’t release details about the current status of the investigation. Franconia police are still asking the members of the public for any information they have about the case and are offering a cash reward for information to advance the case and lead to an arrest.
