Vermont State Police are investigating a series of burglaries at the Affordable Self Storage facility on Beebe Road in Derby. State Police received a complaint about a storage unit that had been broken into. The thief had cut the lock, stole several items, and left the unit in disarray. Among the known stolen items are multiple fishing poles and an ice auger bit. Police believe the burglary took place between July 9 and July 17. During the investigation, officers discovered that three other storage units at the same location were missing their locks, with remnants of a broken lock found outside one of the units. Evidence, believed to have been left behind by the intruder, was collected from the scene and will be sent to the Vermont Forensics Laboratory for analysis. Police are urging all renters at the Affordable Self Storage facility on Beebe Road in Derby to check their units for signs of damage or theft.
