Three people are dead and others were injured after a serious crash shut down
CANDIA, N.H. — Three people are dead and others were injured after a serious crash shut down Route 101 westbound in Candia, authorities said. Candia Fire Rescue Capt. Mike Kelly told News 9 that around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, they got an alarm for a two-car crash that was reported as head-on. New Hampshire State Police said the driver of a Toyota Tundra was heading eastbound on Route 101 at a high rate of speed before side-swiping a Nissan Sentra. According to authorities, the Toyota Tundra then struck a guard rail, crossed the center median, and later crashed head-on into a Jeep Grand Wagoneer that was traveling westbound. Authorities said both drivers of the Toyota Tundra and Jeep Grand Wagoneer died as a result of their injuries. State police said the passenger in the Jeep Grand Wagoneer was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later passed away. Authorities have not released their names. State police said the driver and passenger in the Nissan Sentra were sent to Elliot Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
