The White Mountain School is closing its doors
After 138 years, The White Mountain School, a private college-preparatory boarding school that houses students from across the world and has day students from the North Country and Northeast Kingdom, is closing its doors. The school announced the closure was caused by enrollment challenges and financial pressures. The closure is effective June 30. The closure comes after a potential financial partnership fell through. The school, located at 371 West Farm Road in Bethlehem, was founded in Concord as St. Mary’s School, an all-girls Episcopalian school, in 1886.
