The town of Bethlehem encountered a standstill

After negotiations with a private seller of land were unsuccessful earlier this year, the town of Bethlehem encountered a standstill while finding a home for a new public safety services complex. In March 2022, the Select Board authorized the formation of a safety services committee to scout for land and advance facility designs to replace the current fire and police departments at Bethlehem Town Hall. The timeline for a new facility depends on how quickly land can be secured, a design completed, and other factors. The estimated cost is into several million dollars. For about eight decades, the fire department has been housed behind town hall. The current fire station was built in 1951.
