The Select Board purchased 10,000 cubic yards of crushed, bank-run gravel
WATERFORD — The Select Board purchased 10,000 cubic yards of crushed, bank-run gravel. The board opened three sealed bids and awarded the contract to Manchester Brook Materials (MBM) of East Ryegate for $62,000. MBM will load, haul, and stockpile the gravel at the town garage by Sept. 1. The town had issued a Request For Proposals for two options — delivered and not delivered — and bid amounts ranged from $59,500 to $87,000. Because the highway department is short-staffed, foreman Jim Hayes recommended the Select Board go with the “hauled and stockpiled” option.
