The man charged in the killing of a Rutland police officer will be held without bail
RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – The man charged in the killing of a Rutland police officer will be held without bail until trial. It comes after Tate Rheaume, 20, asked earlier this month to be released to a responsible adult while he awaits trial. Police say Rheaume was fleeing from officers last July when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with Ofc. Jessica Ebbinghausen’s cruiser, killing her. Rheaume is charged with aggravated murder which carries a mandatory life sentence.
