The damage from the July 10 and 11 floods caused an estimated $9 million on state roads in southern Coos County, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation commissioner said to the Governor and Council. During Wednesday’s on-the-road meeting at Forest Society North at The Rocks Estate, District 1 Executive Councilor asked NHDOT Commissioner Bill Cass, with whom he took a tour of the damage last week, about the process to make the area whole in regard to damaged state roads, culverts, and bridges, which took a big hit particularly in the towns of Lancaster and Dalton. In all, primarily with the state roads within NHDOT’s jurisdiction, there were six state roads and about 16 local full road closures the day after the storm, said Cass.
