Tariffs on Metal Raise Concerns for NH Furniture Maker

LISBON, N.H.  – The owner of a New Hampshire furniture company says he’s concerned about his company’s bottom line due to implemented tariffs. Henry Kober, the owner of DCI Furniture in Lisbon, says the company sources it’s wood locally, so lumber is not the concern. It’s tariffs on metal coming from north of the border that could affect pricing. “Concerned about the metal and all the suppliers that use metal. The bed springs are made out of metal,” Kober said. DCI’s biggest contract is with the military. They build dormitory furniture for bases all over the world. They also outfit the rooms with things like refrigerators, microwaves, and washing machines.
