St Johnsbury Holds Public Meeting on 125 Million Armory Project Ahead of June 3 Bond Vote
ST. JOHNSBURY—Officials advocating for the $12.55 million conversion of the Main Street Armory into a police department and dispatch center met with members of the public on Monday to pitch the project’s merits and hear objections from townspeople. Voters will be tasked on June 3 with approving or not a bond request for $3,781,873 to support an overall funding need of $12,558,873 to construct a 8,340 sq. ft. facility at the Armory in which police and dispatch operations would be relocated from the current 100-year-old Main Street public safety building they share with the fire department. The meeting on Monday evening at the Welcome Center was the first of two public informational meetings about the bond vote. The next one is Tuesday, May 27.
