Pre-K-8 Barnet School celebrated a books kickoff
On Friday, the pre-K-8 Barnet School celebrated a books kickoff, courtesy of a rural libraries grant awarded to the Barnet Public Library by the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF), which will put $2,000 worth of brand new free books in the public library to add to its collection as well as $500 in new books for the school’s library. It was one of just 12 rural libraries CLiF grants awarded in Vermont and New Hampshire. In the spring, the year-long grant will also fund free literacy events in Barnet, including bringing in some of the organization’s 50 authors and presenters for what CLiF founder Duncan McDougall said will “hopefully connect kids to the library.”
