One of the oldest American Legion posts in New Hampshire
WHITEFIELD — One of the oldest American Legion posts in New Hampshire is holding its own and planning for a future that includes being even more of a community resource. On Saturday, with the support of the town and local businesses and with the goal of greater visibility, a new electronic sign was unveiled and dedicated at the Ingerson Smith American Legion Post 41. The previous hand-painted sign on a 4-by-8-foot piece of plywood reflected “American Legion” in small lettering and the word “bingo” in much larger lettering. The sign will advertise an upcoming crafts fair hosted by the post auxiliary and a Trunk-or-Treat for Halloween.
