Northumberland adopted an ordinance

NORTHUMBERLAND — A year ago, Northumberland adopted an ordinance to address negligent landlords. Now, they are tweaking it. A proposed amendment to the Public Activity Nuisance ordinance would allow well-meaning landlords to appeal fines. Northumberland Police Chief Peter Pelletier said the amendment was mistakenly left out when the town adopted the ordinance. Pelletier said under the amendment, “A property owner who is trying to evict people or is making an effort to comply won’t be subject to fines.”
