Nomar Ramos-Rivera, 44, faces one count of second degree murder

BERLIN — Nomar Ramos-Rivera, 44, faces one count of second degree murder and two counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon in the shooting death of his neighbor at 568 Sullivan St. last week. Ramos-Allegedly allegedly shot and killed Christopher Veliz, 44, following a dispute on Feb. 3. Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie Duval determined Veliz died from multiple gunshot wounds. Ramos-Rivera is currently being held without bail. He is also accused of recklessly firing a firearm into an occupied vehicle, officials said. An arraignment will be held in the Coos County Superior Court. A hearing date has not yet been assigned.
