NH Tourism Officials Brace for Canadian Boycotts Amid Trade Uncertainty

As trade wars, on-again-off-again tariffs, and daily uncertainty circulate from the Trump Administration, New Hampshire tourism officials are bracing for impacts from Canadian tourist boycotts and possible spending pullbacks in the domestic consumer market. For the past two consecutive months, year over year, Canadian traffic has already decreased. In New Hampshire, tourism is the state’s second-largest revenue driver, and it’s an even greater driver in the North Country, where many small businesses depend on it. On the upside, for the state’s next biennium budget, money for tourism and its marketing was saved at the statehouse on Thursday evening.
