The UNH Cooperative Extension is hosting an April 2 workshop on renovating and pruning old apple trees. Set for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Cider Mill in Groveton, this free workshop will focus on pruning mature apple trees that have not been pruned for some time. “Perfect for somebody trying to renovate older trees,” says contact Nick Rowley. “Bring pruning saws and clippers if you can. A limited number of tools will be on hand for participants to try. No registration is required.” The Cider Mill is located at the junction of Lost Nation Rd., and Herman Savage Rd. in Groveton. For persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations, contact Rowley at 603-788-4961 prior to the event. Given ample time, any reasonable effort will be made to make accommodations. Rain date is April 9.
