HARDWICK — The Hardwick Police Department has been alerted to a telephone scam by a man identifying himself as a department member. The police received numerous telephone calls on Sept. 19 about the reported scam. The caller tells potential victims that they missed jury duty and need to pay fines. This is a scam, and not any member of the Hardwick Police Department [is involved],” stated a press release issued by the department. They are currently investigating these calls.
