The former home of the Lyndon Highway Department is slated for demolition later this month. Work to remove the buildings on site, a garage and a salt shed, should start in mid-May and wrap up sometime in June. Meanwhile the town expects to receive a Phase II Supplemental environmental assessment report, with soil and groundwater test results, sometime soon. The report will determine what, if any, remediation is required. Once the structures are removed and the environmental issues are addressed, the 2.21-acre property located on Route 114 can be redeveloped.
