State and regional travel officials predict a strong summer tourism season

Despite rising inflation and gas prices, state and regional travel officials still predict a strong summer tourism season. As tourism becomes an ever-growing part of the North Country economy, recent years have experienced record numbers of visitors to New Hampshire, as well as a concerted effort by the state to broaden its marketing across the Northeastern states. Summer tourism remained strong during the COVID-19 pandemic. After a drop in numbers in 2020, the summer of 2021 saw a large influx of travelers to New Hampshire, which they looked to as a place to safely distance and visit. In terms of visitors and revenue generated, the summer of 2021 broke the pre-pandemic record of 2019.
