Officials in St. Johnsbury lifted a precautionary boil water notice at 5 p.m. Thursday. The notice had been in effect since Tuesday about 6 p.m. after a significant water pipe fix was needed on Portland Street. The disruption to the system required a water shutdown for hundreds of water users in the area of the fix. The shutdown lasted for a few hours.
