Local man was tased after allegedly resisting arrest
ST. JOHNSBURY — As a result of a March 8 incident on Cross Avenue in St. Johnsbury, a local man was tased after allegedly resisting arrest. Jordan Passut, 43, of St. Johnsbury was cited to appear Caledonia Criminal Court on charges of second degree aggravated domestic assault, domestic assault, resisting arrest, and violation of conditions of release. The incident began with a 911 call to Vermont State Police at about 3:23 p.m. March 8 from a Cross Avenue residence. After an on-scene investigation, troopers attempted to take Passut into custody. He allegedly became assaultive, resulting in the use of a taser by troopers. Passut was taken into custody without further incident, transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing, and lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Complex on $1,000 bail. Troopers were assisted by members of CALEX.
