Local agencies are asking drivers to take extra precautions as kids get ready to head back to school
MILTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Local agencies are asking drivers to take extra precautions as kids get ready to head back to school. Police held a free barbeque event in Milton last week to raise awareness for back to school bus safety. They want drivers to know they must stop for any school buses that are stopped and have their red lights flashing. The Mountain Transit bus company says last year they had hundreds of cars pass them when the red lights were on. The fine for passing a school bus when red lights are flashing is $249 and a five-point violation on your license.
