Last week, someone stole socks from children

LYNDON — Last week, someone stole socks from children. Days later, they made amends.  The Village Sports Shop on Saturday reported that 100 pairs of ski socks taken from outside of its 511 Broad St. location had been returned. The socks are intended for Kingdom East School District students participating in the sports shop’s ski rental program. They will be donated free of charge to children who cannot afford ski socks. It’s part of Village Sports Shop’s mission to expand access to snow sports. The business also provides “scholarships” for ski season rentals to those who are economically disadvantaged. After the theft occurred on Oct. 19, Village Sports Shop asked those responsible to return the socks and promised no consequences. In a social media post on Saturday, VSS remained true to its word.
