Lancaster Police Begin Posting Arrests and Mug Shots on Facebook to Boost Transparency
LANCASTER — The Lancaster Police Department is turning to social media to share more information about its work, including posting arrest details and mug shots on Facebook. Police Chief Jonathan Woodworth said the move is aimed at increasing transparency and informing residents about the types of crime officers are handling. Although the department provides regular updates to the Select Board, Woodworth said Facebook allows the department to reach a broader audience.
