Just days remain for Vermonters to apply for federal disaster assistance
Just days remain for Vermonters to apply for federal disaster assistance from the two storms that hit the state in July and caused millions in damage and counting to homeowners across the Northeast Kingdom and beyond. The application deadline for individuals to apply to FEMA is Monday, Nov. 25, for both the July 9-11 flooding and the July 30 storm. People who suffered damage in both storms should submit separate applications. Survivors who have suffered loss or damage should apply to FEMA even if they don’t have repair estimates or insurance settlements yet. To be considered, people in the affected areas must register with FEMA before the Nov. 25 deadline to begin the process.
