Judge Denies Bail for Bethlehem Man in Assault Case

LITTLETON — Following a probable cause hearing on Tuesday, and after concluding that the state presented clear and compelling evidence, a judge continued the preventive detention order for the Bethlehem man accused of sexually and physically assaulting a 17-year-old female. During the half-hour proceeding, Grafton County prosecutors and investigators also released more details in the case against Raymond Carpe Jr., 23, who will continue to remain in the Grafton County House of Corrections without bail after being arrested and charged on Feb. 19 with a Class B felony count of aggravated felonious sexual assault domestic violence—no consent and three Class B felony counts of second-degree assault by strangulation.
