Gov. Phil Scott highlighted Efficiency Vermonts efforts to help Vermonter’s button up their homes
Gov. Phil Scott highlighted Efficiency Vermont’s efforts to help Vermonter’s “button up” their homes for winter, including a newly launched program to help low income people with repairs. “Efficiency Vermont launched their annual Button Up campaign yesterday which helps Vermonters weatherize their homes and prepare for winter,” said Scott during his Wednesday conference. But here’s some good news, Efficiency Vermont is launching a new home repair program … helping eligible homeowners receive up to $15,000 for weatherization-related home projects like insulation, roof repairs, heat pumps, plumbing and more.” Scott noted finding ways to lower costs would help people already facing “historic property tax increases, higher DMV fees, a payroll tax and high inflation.” Home heating accounts for roughly a third of home energy costs in Vermont according to Efficiency Vermont analysis.
