Farmer Drive Residents Petition for Guardrail Replacement After 2023 Flood Repairs

ST. JOHNSBURY — Townspeople in the Farmer Drive neighborhood have petitioned for guardrails to replace those removed in the wake of last summer’s flooding and subsequent road repairs. The names of 36 concerned citizens appear on a petition presented to the select board on Monday by Coolidge Circle resident Jean McGregor.  The flood events from July 11 and July 30 turned the shallowest of brooks in the region into destructive torrents. Flood surge cratered roads where culverts were overwhelmed, including Farmer Drive. Work was done to reestablish the road, but the guardrails have not yet been returned.
