Catamount Arts has received a $200,000 grant
Catamount Arts has received a $200,000 grant from the town to purchase property behind their building at 115 Eastern Avenue to establish a “Creative Campus.” The funds come from federal ARPA money (American Rescue Plan Act) through the St. Johnsbury Revitalization Fund. And Catamount Executive Director Jody Fried said at the select board meeting on Monday that an environmental cleaning company is working to correct the dry cleaning contamination in their building. Fried hopes the staff can return to the building sometime next year. The St. Johnsbury Select Board approved the $200,000 grant on Monday night. In May, the plans for the creative campus were announced. The creative campus plans include purchasing three round brick buildings on 1.3 acres of land with 45 parking spaces.
