Brook Stotesbury, 41, of Hardwick, was charged on April 11 in Berlin

Brook Stotesbury, 41, of Hardwick, was charged on April 11 in Berlin with aggravated assault and grand larceny. While giving a courtesy ride by Gerin Fortin, 27, of Hardwick, police say Stotesbury pulled a knife and attempted to assault Fortin. Fortin was able to escape his vehicle, attempted to stop Stotesbury from driving away and was dragged down the road several feet before letting go of the door handle. Stotesbury was ultimately arrested on Route 302 in Berlin on separate charges at about 9:57 p.m.
