After earning first place in the 2023 New Hampshire American Legion Junior High School Oratorical Competition

After earning first place in the 2023 New Hampshire American Legion Junior High School Oratorical Competition, a Profile School eighth-grader has earned another first-place state distinction and fifth place nationally as she hones her talent for writing. For 2024, Wenonah Brewer-Nyborg, of Franconia, was awarded first place in the New Hampshire Veterans of Foreign Wars Patriot’s Pen writing contest, after which she advanced to the national competition, earning fifth place. While last year’s competition was lighter, this year there was greater interest and more submission and she was up against a larger number of students. On Saturday at the Mountain View Grand Resort in Whitefield, Wenonah was awarded her certificate as well as a $2,500 scholarship check from the national VFW.
